 Belgian victory for the new Ocean Lava Triathlon half an Ironman distance.The first Edition took place on tis 5th of September and was won by new Belgian Champions: Bert Jammaer and Veerle D’Haese. The race is definitely going to grow as it has been an absolutely huge success.Bert has been leading the race already from the swim finish, whereas Veerle D’Haese overtookk Martina Quintana on the bike course, to take the lead and keep it until crossing the finish line.

Powerman Duathlon World Championships Zofingen: The winners of the 22nd Powerman Zofingen are the same as two years ago: Andy Sutz from Schaffhausen and Erika Csomor from Hungary, who won for the seventh time. The couple ist therefore World Champion on the Duathlon Long Distance of the I.P.A (International Powerman Association).

 The ITU Anti-doping Team was recently in Singapore for the Youth Olympic Games where 24 of the 64 youth athletes were subjected to In-Competition testing. For many of the athletes, it was the first time that they were participating in the Doping Control Process, which for some, included both urine and blood. Source:ITU

 The weather was awesome, Hooters girls did a stirling job on one of the feed stations, other stations were manned by local clubs. There were people out on deck chairs (including from the local old peoples homes!) and a great atmosphere. Provisisional date for next year is July 24th subject to confirmation from the local authorities! Feedback from the event has been great. 743 started and 714 finished, last man was Tim Gardner at 16.55.

 The 22nd Powerman Zofingen is on the way. This coming weekend, on the 4th and 5th of September 2010, a few dozen athletes more than last year will start. Around 1'200 participants in the categories Kids, Youth, CHARITY, Short and Long Distance make a new record come true since 2001. To heat up the emotions even a new Powerman song was created in the last few days.
